End of Year Celebration and Bobcat Bash + Dash

Let’s celebrate our students' hard work this school year with a carnival-style end of year celebration onSaturday, April 30thfrom 10-1pm.
And we are so-o-o excited to announce a NEW event to be held in conjunction with the End of Year par-tay…Bobcat Bash + Dash. This will be a family-friendly obstacle course to test our young and old endurance.
Take a Spring "Break"
Get a “break” from the boredom and mayhem with the kids being out of school and head toSir Veza’s at Speedway/Swan on Wednesday, March 30thfrom 12-3pm.
If Ventana Vista getting15% back isn’t motivation enough, how ‘bout this…
There will be a KIDS ONLY zone at Sir Veza’s!! Yes, you heard that right. Parents can enjoy an adult only, quiet, peaceful lunch while the kids can be loud and raucous in a separate room. The kiddos will have their own wait staff and plenty of craft activities to keep them *literally* out of your hair for an hour or so.
You need this mid-week Spring Break “break”. As well as that bowl of guac and chips!

Spring Administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test

Catalina Foothills School District • 2101 E. River Road • Tucson, Arizona 85718

Spring Administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test

In accordance with state requirements, the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is offered at different times during the school year.  The spring administration of the CogAT is only for students in Kindergarten and Grade 1. Testing will be offered in August 2016 for Grade 2, so students who are currently in Grade 1 may choose to wait until that test administration.

The spring test administration date is Wednesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 24th. Testing is done before school and begins at 7:15am. The location for testing is the IDS room, number 214, by the 5th grade classrooms at Ventana Vista. Students should plan to arrive at 7:00am as testing begins promptly at 7:15am.

Requests for testing must be made in writing by Thursday, March, 17, 2016.  Permission forms are available in the school office or you can request a form from me by email.

It is recommended that parents of primary grade students consult with the classroom teacher and/or gifted specialist before requesting testing. Test results for such young students are valid for a short time only and are NOT required for the identification of primary students for differentiated instruction or extended groups in reading and math in first or second grades.  The assessments used to identify students for these groups are given to all children at the beginning and throughout the year as part of the regular educational program.
